Mythic Echoes’ second annual vampire-themed gaming day came, bit, and departed to some acclaim.
Held at The Wardwick, Derby’s gothic former library, Vampire Games Day II filled six tables across a full day of roleplaying in fantastic costumes, running scenarios from Dungeons & Dragons and Vampire: The Requiem through to Warhammer: The Old World.
The event was part of the broader Dracula Returns to Derby: 101 Years and Counting initiative, an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded research project led by the University of Derby in partnership with Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, Bournemouth University and Sheffield Hallam University, celebrating Derby’s rather under appreciated claim to vampire history.
“Vampire Games Day II was a massive success, with people coming from across the UK to celebrate Dracula’s influence on roleplaying games,” says Mythic Echoes’ co-founder Peter Ray Allison. “We are already planning what we can do to make next year’s Vampire Games Day even bigger and better”. Vampire Games Day III will be held on 13th February 2027 but in the meantime you can view the Vampire Games Day II recap video on their Facebook page.
Mythic Echoes are not sitting on their laurels however, their next event is the vampire LARP As Night Falls: The Crimson Ball in November, and will be continuation of the story they began last year with As Night Falls: The Auction. Further details will be announced soon.

Reaper Miniatures have been in the miniatures since game way in 1992, with their fantasy figures gracing many a RPG night table. In 1998 they moved in to the paint business with their Master Series Paints, and also introduced the Bones line of paint a few years ago. Now they are merging the best of both in a reimagined, reformulated, and remastered… Reaper Master Series Remastered.
