Avalon Hill Unleash a New Reign of Terror with Fury of Dracula 5th Edition

Some games just refuse to stay (un)dead. I remember picking up the first edition of Fury of Dracula, originally published by Games Workshop when it came out way back in 1987. It was a great ‘cat and mouse’ style of game where one player was Dracula and everyone else were hunters working together to try and track him down and put an end of his reign of terror.

Played across a map of Europe Dracula had largely hidden movement, but if a Hunter passed through a city that Dracula had recently visited they would find some evidence, or worse be attacked by Dracula’s minions. The Hunters tried to close the net around Dracula, whilst Dracula not only tried to remain hidden but also get into a position where he could turn the Hunters and raise an empire of undead Vampires.

After years out of print Fantasy Flight Games opened the tomb and brought out a second edition in 2005, with two further editions coming out through them over the next ten years with new graphics and some updated game play.

Now Avalon Hill/Hasbro have announced a return to Victorian era Europe and Van Helsing, Jonathan and Mina Harker, and co, dusting off their stakes and taking of the highways and seaways once more in search of the Count in Fury of Dracula: 5th Edition. But will any of them make it out alive?

The game, for 2-5 players ages 14+, will be available at GenCon in the States in August, followed by a September retail release.
