Osprey Release The Hooded Man
Body
The Hooded Man is now available from Osprey Games.
Described as ‘An adventure roleplaying game inspired by the legends of Robin Hood’, this new release sees players assuming the roles of rebels fighting the misrule of Prince John and various ‘powerful landowners, grasping tax-collectors, and greedy barons’. Each of these player characters will be ‘hunter and prey [and] a friend of the people and an enemy of tyrants’.
As outlaws and rebels ‘inspired by tales of Robin's bravery’, they will make Sherwood Forest their home whilst they ‘undertake a guerrilla campaign against Prince John’s lackeys.’
The Hooded Man focuses on characters ‘drawn from all walks of life’ and which bring ‘their own talents, histories, and motives to the company’. It uses a D6 dice-pool system designed to be so simple as to allow players to dedicate their focus on roleplaying and their characters’ ‘fight against tyranny and oppression’.
The Hooded Man is available as a 192-page hardcover book, or in various digital formats. It is written by Graham Rose—who also wrote Osprey’s Paleomythic roleplaying game—and illustrated by Brainbug Design, whose work can be seen in a number of other Osprey RPGs, including The Terror Beneath and many entries in the Siver Bayonet series.
