Asmodee will release Unlock! Short Adventures: Assain’s Creed - Trial of the Initiate on 6th November, brinigng Ubisoft’s historical adventure series to Space Cowboys’ cooperative puzzle game.

Players take the role of Gabriella, an Assassin initiate investigating a mystery in Renaissance-era Pisa. She must solve puzzles, uncover secrets and prove herself worthy of wielding a Hidden Blade. The adventure, which carries a difficulty rating of 2 (Medium/Standard Challenge) has a UK RRP of £6.99 and is available to pre-order at a number of stores.

The game supports one to six players, with arecommended age of 10 and up, and usually takes around 40 minutes to complete. As in other Unlock! games, players work together with a deck of cards to search locations, combine clues and solve puzzles. The free companion app supplies the timer, story events and hints, and is required to play.

The Unlock! format looks like a natural fit for Assassin’s Creed, as secret messages, hidden mechanisms and coded clues are already part of the appeal of the video game. The Short Adventures format also offers a relatively inexpensive way for fans of the video game series to try an escape-room-style tabletop game.
