Four Games New To UK Games Expo From Dranda!

Dranda Games have four titles making their first UK Games Expo appearence this weekend. Dranda Games are an award-winning UK board games publisher that have been publishing since 2017. Previous hits include 2023’s Isle of Trains: All Aboard and Galactic Cruise which was released in 2025.

The four titles, one of which will only be available at Dranda’s booth until it’s release later in the summer, and another of which is a ‘first look’ in advance to it’s release next year, can all be found on Stand 2-704 at the NEC, Birmingham, from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May.

So, what are the games? Well…

Jackpot : Set the Reel is a brand new title that will only be available for purchase on Dranda’s stand at the show. The game is a ‘slot building’ card game where players build a slot machine and set the reels by manipulatuing the cards, trying to hit the jackpot. The ‘slotbuilder’ challenges you to master the art of hand manipulation as you aim to make lines of three of the same symbol. The thing is you never shuffle your cards - instead, through clever planning, tactical upgrade, and precise card swaps, you’ll manipulate your and to strike the big payouts. Jackpot is for 1-4 players, ages 12+, and takes 30-60 minutes to play.

Lost Lumina is an immersive 2-player experience where multi-use cards and area control dictate your path to victory. Players battle with their party of diverse animalistic characters for control over the Regions of Amanaar. At the beginning of the game each player drafts 10, out of 27, beautifully illustrated cards and can, each turn, play a card from their hand amd take a number of actions equal to the action points on the card. Actions allow you to reinforce your party with new followers or to move your followers around the map. In areas where both parties meet a battle commences - which is solved through each player selecting one of their characters as their leader, using their sepcial abilities, and working out your combined battle strength. The game ends immediately if one player has no party members left on the map or if both players run out of cards. When the game ends each player adds up their scores for each area, with the overall highest scoring player winning.

Mutagen is a customisable worker placement game set in a 1920’s biopunk universe. The game comes in a standard and a Deluxe edition. Each player has four workers that each react differently to the areas they are placed in. Each time a player places a worker they will activate that location’s actions, plus an additional action determined by the worker’s colour. Players can unlock full potential of biological upgrades by infusing their workers with upgrades that will grant them edges over their opponents.

As mining activities intensified in the twilight years of the industrial revolution, competition for natural resources grew fierce and industrialists burrowed themselves deeper and deeper into the sodden depths of the earth. One mining operation dug deeper than any other, and the events that followed this endeavour have become the stuff of myth and legend. What little information is known about the venture centres on the discovery of a new and powerful element, an element known simply as ‘The Great Shard’.

The Great Shard’s mystical properties not only accelerated the industrial revolution dramatically, but also altered the world around it, spawning creatures and phenomena that defied every natural law imaginable. The world would never be the same. Soon, the mad industrialist known only as ‘the Keeper’ had learned to control the power of the Great Shard. Their lust for progress extended beyond the industrial world through which they had gained their power, and morphed into an obsession with biogenetic modifications. People who indulged in this practice of self mutation became known as the Mutagen.

Now, many years later, the Keeper of the Shard is nearing the end of his unnaturally extended life, and you are one of four Mutagen in the running to take over their position of power. The Keeper will be observing your every move, and will choose only one successor before he draws his final breath.

Mutagen is for 1-4 players, ages 12+, with a usual play time of 60-90 minutes.

Explorers of Navoria: World’s Edge will give you an advance look of this expansion set which isn;t due for release until 2027. If you liked the base game then you’ll need to head over and have a look at what this expansion will add as it’s quite a lot.
