Son of Oak and Hit Point Press Team Up For Humblewood in the Mist!

Ignoring everything we were told about ‘not merging the streams’ by our favourite group of ghost hunters, Son of Oak Game Studio have announced a collaboration with Hit Piont Press to bring the fantastic Humblewood campaign setting to the Legend of the Mist RPG system in a brand new setting book called Humblewood in the Mist!

Hit Point Press’ Humblewood is a standalone campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, set in a magical woodland realm, where players take on roles of various birds and animals. The original Humblewood Campaign Setting for 5eKickstarterraised over $1,000,000 in 2019, with a second campaign, Humblewood Tales - A Book of Adventures for 5e raising $430,738 in August 2022, followed by a third, Humblewood: Beyond the Canopy, which expanded the setting and added a wealth of new playable races, monsters, etc, making just under $600,000 in May 2025.

Son of Oak Game Studio’s Legend in the Mist, is a rustic fantasy RPG based on their award winning City of Mist narrative game engine. The game raised over $850,000 on Kickstarter in March 2024 and began shipping the physical books out to backers this week.

The beloved, vibrant world of Humblewood is crossing over with the rustic, evocative Legend in the Mist RPG system. Together, we are creating a brand-new setting book: Humblewood in the Mist!

It has been ruled for generations by the birdfolk who inhabit the Great Tree-City of Alderheart. Humblewood has endured for centuries due to the industry and compassion of its people…

…but now the fires have come, and the Woods have been thrown into chaos. Flames ravage the land and destroy the homes of the humblefolk, stoking a growing resentment against the birdfolk, whose cities have managed to avoid the worst of the fires so far. Hatred burns in the hearts of those who have lost lives they cherished, and these once peaceful peoples now take up the sword and trun to banditry. The disaffected turn their gaze on Alderheart, and threaten to reduce an age of peace to ashes…

…yet there is still hope. Even in these dark times, brave heroes can be found within the Wood. Only they can quell the raging flames that have been unleashed upon the land, and restore balance to the realm. Will you answer the call?
