It seems that if a world is left too long without a Michael Moorcock licensed Tabletop Roleplaying Game strange things happen and we end up getting multiple new roleplaying games - but only if all of them are Elric and Stormbringer it seems…
Free League Publishing announced today that they will be publishing Legends of Stormbringer, a new officially licensed TTRPG based on the iconic works of Michael Moorcock.
Legends of Stormbringer, which is due for release in 2027 after a crowdfunding campaign, will take us to the Young Kingdoms - a world of dying empires, warring gods, and doomed heroes - using mechanics basesd on the award winning Dragonbane RPG. One name already attached to the project as a setting writer is Richard Watts, who is returning to the Young Kingdoms having previously worked on Chaosium’s Stormbringer RPG line.

“This has been in the works for several months and we’re thrilled to finally share the news. We are honored to bring Elric and the Young Kingdoms to the tabletop once more.” said Tomas Harenstam, CEO of Free League Publishing.
This announcement comes only a few days since Goodman Gamesannounced their own Elric tabletop roleplaying games which will be using the Dungeon Crawl Classics and Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Both of these are also due for release in 2027 after their own crowdfunding game.
