Get on the Case with Build Onyx
Body
The BuildONYX Kickstarter is now in its final week.
The debut campaign by boffins and gaming enthusiasts David Sumantry and Ryan Unwin, the BuildONYX campaign is seeking funds for a ‘3D-printable display case for collectors’. This swish looking case has been designed so it can snap together ‘with no hardware required’. And is ideal for ‘collectors of miniatures, tabletop games, and figures such as Warhammer, Dungeons and Dragons, Gundam, and Pokemon and more.’ The modular design also allows collectors to expand their cases both vertically and horizontally to accommodate increasing large collections.
The campaign also features thematic, textured skins for your cases; these include a cyberpunk and a grimdark skin. Additional skins are available as stretch goals.
Needless to say, the ONYX can sit on any flat surface. It can also be mounted to a wall by virtue a French cleat.
Designed around a snap-fit concept, ONYX can be assembled without tools or hardware. The cases can also be dissembled with ease ‘depending on the rigidity of your materials’. As you might expect, detailed assembly instructions are provided with the files.
This campaign is already funded and the first stretchgoal—a steampunk skin for your case—has already been unlocked, with both a Mechaforge and Draconic skin remaining to be unlocked.
The BuildONYX Kickstarter is David Sumantry and Ryan Unwin’s first Kickstarter campaign. It ends on Wednesday, January 28th at 5:55 PM UTC.
