Swords Against the Shadows is a Swords and Sorcery Role-Playing Game (S&S RPG). The players play characters, such as Barbarians, Fighters,Thieves and Sorcerers in a fantasy world that is subject to not only the worst effects of human greed and corruption, but also the unwelcome attentions of the demons who come through the shadows that separates reality from their hells.

It takes the rules light The Black Hack, by David Black, which uses modern mechanics to model old school play, as a base, and is inspired by the rules changes from Crypts and Things (C&T), another Swords and Sorcery RPG published by us which models the genre from a very 70s/80s British perspective.

The Jewelled Coast is used as an example setting, but you can easily use a setting of your own in its place and the World Building chapter encourages that.
