The long-running Dudley Bug Ball grew from 80 attendees in a chemical company social club to 3,000 at the NEC Hilton Metropole until 2002. After a lengthy hiatus, the convention returned in 2019 and has been running ever since, this year taking over No.4 Events and Banqueting Hall in Dudley on the 21st and 22nd of February.
The two-day weekend features tabletop RPGs, board games, miniature wargames, and the usual opportunities to relieve yourself of disposable income at the traders' tables. Previous years have supported good causes including Honeypot, the UK charity providing respite for young carers. Under 12's free with an accompanying adult, attendees with disabilities - carers go free.
