I saw a post earlier from @StarHunter regarding a game of 4e using tiles to build the tabletop experience.
Got me to remember, I backed 13th Age second edition. I've played and ran some 13th Age 1st edition as I saw that as the successor to DnD 4E. It followed a very similar rules system and fixed a number of known issues but placed its own stamp on things and expanded it. It was great though it lost out to 5E as players moved to that.
So, if you've liked 13th Age 1e, or DnD 4e or just want to try something new to you, then go here, it's still got almost two weeks to go and as normal with KS's there's plenty of stuff being unlocked in stretch goals - which mostly are VTT integration, though book improvements are mentioned.
