Step into the Unknown with Wizkids' New Star Trek Miniatures Game

Wizkids are preparing to launch more starships into the final frontier.

Now available for pre-order, Wizkids new and forthcoming releases for Star Trek: Into the Unknown feature two new sets. These include the Star Trek: Into the Unknown - Rising Tensions expansion and a Bird-of-Prey - Cloaked and Uncloaked pack.

The first of these introduces the Klingon Empire into Star Trek: Into the Unknown. Playable ‘as a standalone faction or as allies for Federation or Dominion forces’, Rising Tensions allows players to bolster their fleets with ‘new officers and equipment ‘ whilst also embarking on a new campaign and a collection of missions ‘designed to test each faction’s battle skill, diplomatic cunning, and thirst for exploration’. It also introduces rules for cloaking devices and stealth trackers. Most importantly, it also features four new ships: a Vor’cha-class Klingon attack cruiser, a B’rel-class Klingon Bird of Prey (with adjustable wings!), and two fan-favourite Federation ships: the Miranda-class cruiser and Defiant-class escort.

The forthcoming Rising Tensions expansion, meanwhile, includes a pair of ‘incredible, highly-detailed minatures’ depicting the perennially popular Klingon Bird-of-Prey. Whilst both of these feature adjustable wing positions, one sports ‘standard pre-painted details’, whilst the other features a ‘special cloaked effect’.

The Bird-of-Prey - Cloaked and Uncloaked pack also includes everything you’ll need to play these ships in Star Trek: Into the Unknown, including two miniatures, two sets of bases and pegs, a ship display dial and damage cards.

Both sets also include all the bases, cards, books and tokens players will need to launch their new starships.
