Games Workshop Preview a Plethora of New Products (Part One: 40k)

A Space Marine in dark green armor stands prominently in the foreground, wielding a large, glowing hammer and a shield adorned with intricate text and skull motifs. To the left, a Necron warrior, characterized by its skeletal frame and glowing green accents, raises a scythe-like weapon. The background features a dynamic orange geometric pattern, enhancing the tension of the scene.

Body

So, Friday was a big day for fans of Games Workshop and the Warhammer 40,000 universe in particular; so big, in fact, that it’s taken this bear of little brains more then 24 hours to digest all the new previews … and, even now, I’m still a little overwhelmed.

However, I will now attempt to bang my brain cells together and regurgitate all those new previews. To make this a little easier on both of us, this article will focus on the new 40k goodies, with a subsequent article summarising all the new releases for Age of Sigmar et al. So, if you’re a 40k fan, grab your loins and gird your wallet, ‘cos the grim future of mankind is about to get expensive…

Kill Team: Tombworld

A detailed tabletop gaming scene depicts a modular Necron-themed killzone from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, featuring various miniatures. In the foreground, a Deathwatch Space Marine stands ready for battle, while several Necron warriors are positioned throughout the environment, which includes intricate walls adorned with glowing green elements and a circular teleportation pad. The overall atmosphere is dynamic, showcasing the impending conflict between the two factions in a richly designed setting.

The first in a ‘new season of expansions’, Kill Team: Tombworld will include 11 new Deathwatch miniatures from which players can recruit their kill team on a mission by mission basis; and that team will have to be carefully selected, as they will face an opposing brood of Necrons.

These two teams will do battle in a fully-modular, ‘all-new Necron-themed killzone‘ stuffed with ‘shimmering portals, teleportation pads, and regenerating walls’.

The set will be completed by the Tomb World Dossier, which will contain ‘extensive background lore for the two kill teams;. a full sheet of tokens for each team and a set of Tomb World event cards’.

Titus’ Terrific Tin Lid

A wearable Space Marine helmet features a striking design with a blue and red color scheme, accented by a prominent skull emblem on the forehead. The helmet has a sleek, angular shape with dark eye lenses and ventilation grills on the front. It is set against a dramatic dark red background, enhancing its imposing appearance.

Ever wondered exactly how big a Space Marine’s head is? Well, wonder no more, because soon you’ll be able to get your hands on this, the ‘first ever officially licensed wearable Space Marine helmet’; try not to squeeze too hard, won’t you?

Lots and Lots and LOTS of New Space Marines

Three dynamic Space Marine miniatures are prominently displayed against a fiery, apocalyptic backdrop. On the left, a figure clad in dark armor with intricate details and a skull motif stands atop a rocky base, holding a weapon. In the center, a green-armored character wields a flaming sword and features a distinctive circular emblem above his head, while flames lick at his feet. On the right, a yellow-armored Space Marine, adorned with a shield and a hammer, exudes a commanding presence, completing the trio of characters from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Five of the Space Marines’ First Founding Chapters are about to be bolstered by brand new new character miniatures and Combat Patrols.

As well as dynamic miniatures for characters such as Vulkan He’stan, Darnath Lysander and Caanok Var, there will also be brand new combat patrol box sets for Salamanders, Imperial Fists, Iron Hands, Raven Guard and White Scars.

Brand New Fiction

Two imposing Space Marine characters stand facing each other in a dramatic confrontation. On the left, a figure clad in ornate gold armor, adorned with skull motifs and a flowing red cape, exudes authority and intensity. Opposite him, a blue-armored Space Marine with a laurel crown and a confident expression stands ready, showcasing intricate details on his armor. The background features a partially ruined architectural setting, enhancing the epic atmosphere of their encounter.

Set in the aftermath of the Siege of Terra, the Black Library’s new series of novels promises 'brutal conflict, high drama, and political machinations'. New titles include Ashes of the Imperium: the Scouring by Chris Wraight. This new novel—as written from the perspective of three key antagonists—examines what lays in store for ‘the Loyalists, the Traitors, and the rest of humanity’ following the Horus Heresy.

New MKII Assault Squad

A group of Space Marines in MkII Assault Armor is depicted, showcasing their distinctive jetpacks and weapons. The Marines are set against a gritty, war-torn background with a smoky atmosphere, emphasizing the grim aesthetic of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Their armor features a metallic finish with yellow and black stripes, highlighting their dynamic poses as they prepare for battle.

Okay, I’ll admit it, whilst Primaris Marines leave me cold, I love the older patterns of Space Marine armour (with my favourites being the MKV, the classic MKVI (or ‘Wombles’ as we used to call ‘em), and the fabulously goofy MkI ‘Thunder Armour’); for that reason I’m 100% down with the new MkII Assault Squad. These cool bros are stylin’ and profilin’ with their jetpacks, chainswords, combat shields et al…

Liber Strategia

A large, heavily armored vehicle dominates the foreground, painted in a striking yellow with black accents. The vehicle features multiple gun barrels protruding from the top and a rugged, industrial design, emphasizing its role in combat. In the background, additional similar vehicles are partially visible, set against a smoky, war-torn landscape.

There’s a whole raft Epic scale releases ready to join their teeny tiny brethren. These include Mastodon Super-heavy Assault Transports, Whirlwind and Scorpius Missile Tank Squadrons, Vindicator Siege Tank Squadrons and more besides.

The Leagues of Votann

A detailed miniature figure stands prominently in the foreground, featuring a character with a complex helmet and multiple mechanical appendages extending from its back, each topped with small, glowing orbs. The figure is dressed in a dark, ornate robe, holding a device in one hand, while two other armored figures are partially visible in the background, suggesting a sci-fi setting. The scene is set against a moody, atmospheric backdrop that enhances the futuristic theme.

These squat wee fellas are also about to receive reinforcements. Like, a lot of reinforcements; so many, in fact, that I will cover them all in a separate article. That article will include not only the new Leagues of Votann leaders, but also their new character models, units, artillery and vehicles, but also a brand new codex and a new Combat Patrol.

You can read a full summary on the forthcoming tsunami of Games Workshop releases on the Warhammer Community website.
