The popular Wingspan board game, by Stonemeier Games, is seeing it’s fourth expansion hit stores next week. Having previously explored our winged friends native to North America, Europe and Asia, the new Wingspan: Americas Expansion sees us travel to Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Although the region is home to over 3000 bird species Wingspan Americas includes 151 new birds (including 40 types of hummingbirds, who apparently make up one tenth of all bird species in Latin America!). In addition to the new bird cards the set has 8 new goal cards, 5 double-sided goal tiles, an Automa solo mode and some additional boards for the Hummingbirds. The Hummingbirds add a special twist to the gameplay which will be interesting to see in play. The expansion is playable with either the core Wingspan game or with the 1-2 player Wingspan: Asia.

The Wingspan: Americas Expansion box is prominently displayed, featuring vibrant artwork of a hummingbird and a flamingo. Surrounding the box are various game components, including bird cards, a green tray for organizing pieces, and colorful goal cards. A beautifully illustrated game board depicting tropical flora is also visible, along with tokens and player boards, all set against a dark wooden table.
