After curating the habitats of Central Europe (Forest Shuffle) and the moorlands of Devon (Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor) we’re now travelling across the Atlantic for the third stand-alone game in this award-winning series from Lookout Games.

Forest Shuffle: Smoky Mountains takes us to the popular National Park on the Tennessee-North Carolinaborder in the southeastern USA. The Smokies is the most visited national park in the States and sports one of the most diverse ecosystems on the continent, making it an excellent addition to the series.

Building on the familiar gameplay of the series, Smoky Mountains introduces new species and clever twists to the mechanic to represent the uniqueness of this area. These include:

  • New terrain types centred around water, playable on their own or tucked as universal waters under trees.

  • New synergies between flora and fauna, all revolving around the element of water.

  • In addition to a variety of species around the water, the game is also home to various large animals, such as black bears and bobcats.

Forest Shuffle: Smoky Mountains is for 2-5 players, ages 10+, and usually plays in about an hour. The game is currently scheduled for release into retail stores around September or October 2026.
