Tom Clancy's The Division TTRPG Kickstarter Launches 12th May

Arkhane Asylum Publishing have announced that their official Tom Clancy’s The Division TTRPG will now be launching on Kickstarter on 12th May. The initial launch date was due for 28th April but has been delayed by a couple of weeks.

Arkhane have said that the short delay has also allowed them to confirm that Thomas Parrott, author of the official Division novels, will be joining the campaign with an original short story focused on Rachel Levesque, one of the game’s pre-generated characters.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is a 2016 video game released by Ubisoft which is set in the near future after a deadly engineered pathogen known as Green Poison is released in New York City, and subsequently sweeps across the United States, crippling institutions and plunging cities into chaos.

As esssential services fail, hostile factions rise to seize control of the streets. With fear spreading even faster than the virus, society stands on the brink of collapse, struggling to survive in a crumbling world.

In the heart of darkness, a beacon ignites. Under a top-secret directive, The Division - a classified unit of sleeper agents embedded across the country - awakens to face the crisis. Operating without backup, equipped with advance technology, and trained to act independently, they must reclaim lost ground, rebuild shattered communities, protect the innocents, and restore order - street by street, block by block.

The TTRPG, which has been in development for about three years, is finished and Arkhane have released a free downloadable Quickstart Manual which gives you a quick world overview, a rules summary of the GRIS system they are using, a sample ready-to-play scenario called Ashes of Murray Hill, and five pregenerated characters.

The GRIS system is a purpose built set of rules for the game that only uses D10s. Any D10’s will do, although they will be including Agent (with The Division’s logo) and Coordinator (with the Green Poison symbol) sets of dice in the games Starter Set.

The first wave of releases for The Division RPG are as follows:

Starter Set: A beginner’s boxed set with three booklets (World, Rules, and Scenario) and plenty of accessories to get you rolling with your first game in the world of The Division.

Agent’s Manual: A dedicated players’ guide introducing the world of The Division, the threat of Green Poison, and the many armed factions menacing the East Coast of the United States. As well as these narrative sections, you’ll find the whole GRIS system - including advanced combat, Integrity, Specilializations, and how to manage your squad over the course of a campaign.

Coordinator’s Manual: A book that’s just for the game master, known as the Coordinator, detailling the fundamentals of how to prep and run a game, the difference between one type of mission and another, and how to manage the many allied and enemy non-player characters who bring the world of The Division to life.

Operations Pack: A set of 13 exciting scenarios set in New York City.

Accessories: A range of accessories to deepen your experience of the game, a squad board, cards for Agents and the Coordinator, exclusive dice and tactical map packs, etc.
