White Wolf & Renegade Game Studios Part Ways

The publishing partnership between White Wolf and Renegade Game Studios is wrapping up at the end of 2026. Renegade had been publishing World of Darkness material under the licensing deal since 2020 but with news that White Wolf was starting to develop a new edition of Vampire: The Masquerade this summer, combined with Renegade unveiling they were bringing Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe RPG to crowdfunding in October 2026, many were expecting that the agreement was about to end.

The two companies issued press statements thanking each other for the work, development and support over the last few years, with Renegade writing:

This marks the end of an important chapter for both of our teams, and one we’re very proud of. Together, we’ve had the opportunity to work on Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Hunter: The Reckoning, and other World of Darkness projects with an incredibly talented group of writers, designers, artists, developers, and partners.

Most of all, we’re grateful to everyone in the community who has played these games, shared them, talked about them, and supported them over the years. Thank you for being part of this chapter with us.

We wish the White Wolf team all the best with what comes next, and we hope you’ll continue to join us for the other games and worlds we’re working on.

White Wolf, in turn, wrote:

Renegade’s final two books for the IP will be Courts of the Damned for Vampire: The Masquerade, and Tribes of Gaia for Werewolf: The Apocalypse, both of which will be released in October 2026.

Physical books and PDFs will be available through Renegade until the end of the year at which point they will no longer be available for sale. Some physical stock of the books may continue to exist through distributors and retailers but once those have sold out they will no longer be available unless White Wolf decides to do something with them in the future.

Renegade will continuing supporting the WoD community until the end of the year, at which point White Wolf be taking on all aspects of customer and community support.
