Subscribers to R Talsorians newsletter were given a few days of priority ordering before the game went on general sale on Saturday 31st October 2026. The Limited Edition Hardcovers will begin to ship out to customers in late November.

What Happened at Sugarworm Village is a Gothic Horror StorytellinTRPG which takes the structure of a three-act play played in scnes in front of a live audience of your fellow players.

In this game, you’ll take to the stage as Sugarworm Village’s newest resident, a reanimated monster, alongside a cast of 25 villagers, each complete with personality, background, interwoven relationships, and secrets, any of which you may find youself suddenly cast as.

What Happened at Sugarworm Village runs on its own narrative system where dice represent individual body parts, roleplay is prioritized, and math is minimal. The residents of Sugarworm and the reanimated monster in the midst, are the sum of their parts. Did your eye get gouged out? If you want a good replacement, look for a villager without glasses!

The book’s art stuns with never-before-digitally-restored Gothic period accurate woodblocks, all of which have been remixed in a beautiful watercolor style by Nic Freeman.

What Happened at Sugarworm Village is available to pre-order, while stock lasts, on R Talsorians webstore.
