UK based Midnight Tower have been publishing adventures since 2019. The duo, who live in Oxford, consist of Tove (writer, artist) and Erik (editing, graphic design), with additional help at conventions and packing/sending parcels out from their daughters, so Mignight Tower is very much a family business.

The Body in the Mage is the companies fourteenth Kickstarter, all of which have been for the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules set, This latest adventure is a murder mystery inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. An old acquaintance, Dr Ivan Mortenberg, has sent you a hastily written letter and asks for help.
However, when you arrive at Coppertown on a stormy night, you find his lifeless body in the laboratory. The door to the tower is locked, but the attic window is wide open.
A strange creature has been sighted nearby. But Dr Ivan Mortenberg had many enemies - and other lives are now at grave risk.
Welcome to Mortenberg Hall, where both secrets and bodies are buried deep.

The Body in the Mage Tower is designed for 7th level characters, but includes scalable encounters so the adventure can be played by characters of any level from 1 to 20. Also available in the campaign is The Secret Research Notes, a compendium with all the unlocked stretch goals, specially designed character sheets inspired by Frankenstein, six premade characters and a free VTT pack with tokens, gridless maps, and digital handouts to make the game easily played online.

Like pervious Midnght Tower books, The Body in the Mage Tower is set in Eastern Farraway, a fantasy realm that has been Tove and Erik’s D&D campaign setting for nearly 30 years.
