SALUTE 53 Announces Record Breaking Attendance

SALUTE 53, Europe’s largest independen wargames show, took place at the London ExCel on Saturday 11th April, hosted by the South London Warlords. Originating back in 1972 the first SALUTE was held at the Surrey tavern at the Oval Cricket Ground, just south of the Thames. It’s fair to say that it’s come a long way in the last 53 years.

This years event, held in the ExCel Centre in London which has been the show’s home since the early 00’s, had the shows biggest ever attendence, with over 7,400 tickets sold - and was jammed packed with traders, demonstration games, seminars and painting competitions.

The show had a fantastic atmosphere and the traders certainly seemed to be doing brisk business, indeed it was nera impossible at times to get close to some of the stands! I’m planning on covering a number of the companies that attended the show over the next few weeks, but have included, below, a few photo’s I took at this years event.

The dates for next years event, SALUTE 54, have already been announced. So get Saturday 17th April 2027 marked in your diaries!
