Compass Games New Eastern Front Game Shipping Soon

Compass Games have announced that their new For The Motherland! The Russian Front, 1941-44 wargame will start shipping out to pre-order customers and retail stores this month. The game, by Japanese game designer Masahiro Yamazaki, begins with the German invasion of the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa and finishes towards the end of the war with the German forces effectively driven back with the tide completely turning on the Eastern Front.

The game, played on a single mounted map board and includes four varioanle turn scenarios : Operation Barbarossa (1-7 Game Turns), The Road to Stalingrad (1-12 Game Turns), Fall Blau (8-17 Game Turns), and the War for the Motherland Campaign (1-22 Game Turns). Playing time ranges from 2-5 hours for the scenarios, and 8+ hours for the campaign. Whilst the game can be played solo it is better with 2 players.
