The Set a Watch: Winterlands Kickstarter Enters Final Fortnight

The Kickstarter campaign for Set a Watch: Winterlands is now entering its final fourteen days.

Created by Mike Gnade of Rock Manor Games, Winterlands is a realm expansion pack for the cooperative adventure puzzle game Set a Watch. As with the core game, this new expansion can be ‘mixed and matched with any standalone Set a Watch game’ whilst boasting ‘brand new creatures, locations and challenges’.

Winterlands also adds a frisson of dark fantasy to the game, boasting as it does ‘a brand-new creature deck, unhallowed bosses, locations, and a new adventurer—the Northman’. This new hero is armed with a big ol’ iron club and ‘excels at crushing golems and other creatures’. He also benefits from an Orb of Winter, with which he can ‘pierce the veil of darkness and reveal the horrors that lurk ahead’.

This new expansion has also been designed to slot into the Set a Watch Doomed Run campaign box, It invites you to ‘Trek through frozen tundras, ice floes, and pine thickets [as you search for] the Krampus's Secret Workshop’. Finding said workshop is only half the battle; you’ll then need to defeat the fabled beast or be locked in its cage forever.

The Krampus is not the only danger which lurks in the tundra; the Toymaker, for instance, ‘commands legions of wooden golems’, whilst Hoarfrost wyrms circle your fire, and ‘chimney crawlers stalk the rooftops above’.

As you might expect, this Kickstarter campaign offers backers the opportunity to not only back Winterlands, but to also add previous Rock Manor Games releases to their pledge; these include not only the Set a Watch core game and expansions, but also swish accessories such as a cloth play mat and an attractive pouch full of metal coins.
