Body

The Army Painter has announced Forgotten Pigments, a new Dungeons & Dragons miniature-painting collection due in 2027. Revealed at SPIEL Essen, the partnership will also introduce a free D&D Paint Academy to help players bring their characters and creatures to the tabletop in colour.

Supported by Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, the collaboration will span paints, sets and accessories. Forgotten Pigments will feature colours developed specifically for Dungeons & Dragons, drawing inspiration from the game’s artwork, books, characters, monsters and worlds. The full product line-up currently remains under wraps.

Many players know exactly what their D&D character and adventures look like in their imagination, but many have never picked up a paintbrush. We want ot change that. Together, we’ll make it easy and fun for more players to add colour to their stories and bring them to life.

A Paint Academy for First-Time Adventurers

Alongside the collection, The Army Painter is introducing the D&D Paint Academy, a free educational platform offering approachable tutorials that progress from first brushstrokes to more advanced techniques. The company’s announcement places accessibility at the centre of the project, encouraging players who may never have painted a miniature before to give it a try.

Planned lessons include technique-based, encounter-based and class-based tutorials, connecting painting guidance to aspects of D&D that players already recognise. The Army Painter’s Factory Team will help provide education and inspiration, while a partnership with Blackwater DnD will introduce miniature painting to actual-play and wider D&D audiences.

More Reveals to Come

Forgotten Pigments is currently scheduled for 2027, with individual colours and product details still to be revealed. The Army Painter is inviting interested players to register through its D&D page for collection updates and access to the Paint Academy’s painting guidance.

Players can find out more and sign up through The Army Painter’s D&D page.
