Six New Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce Boxes Revealed

Games Workshop have given everyone a look at this years selection of Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce Boxes. The boxes are large, ilimited-run, collection sets that are a great way to start a brand-new army or as a way to expand an existing colelction. The boxes usually hit pre-order in November for release in time for the holiday season, and have often been dubbed “New Year, New Army” projects by fans.

This year we’re getting six new sets to choose from…

Stormcast Eternals: Annihilation Host

• Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos

• Lord-Relictor

• Lord-Celestant

• 3 Praetors

• 6 Annihilators

• 3 Annihilators with Meteoric Grandhammers

Crush Sigmar’s enemies with an unstoppable force of heavy Stormcast infantry, led by the peerless Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos. Your opponents will know what hit them, and it’ll be a bunch of devastating (war)hammers.

Cities of Sigmar: Knights of Hammerhal

• Tahlia Vedra, Lioness of the Parch

• Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal

• 10 Freeguild Cavaliers

Tahlia Vedra leads a powerful cavalry charge through the gates of your Castelite formation, flanked by the thundering hooves of the Freeguild Cavaliers. They’re speed, power, and style all in one package – perfect for the centrepiece to a wider army.

Maggotkin of Nurgle: Plaguesworn Host

• Harbinger of Decay

• Lord of Blights

• 3 Sloven Knights

• 5 Putrid Blightkings

• 10 Rotswords

• 14 Pox-Wretches

• 6 Mire Kelpies

Muster a diverse and potent force of Nurgle’s finest plague-bringers with the Plaguesworn Host, which includes a healthy* mix of tough champions, swarming creatures, and mobile cavalry. It’s a solid core around which you can expand a greater Maggotkin of Nurgle army, be it with daemons, larger monsters, or even more resilient infantry.

Orruk Warclans: Grunta Stampede

• Tuskboss on Maw-Grunta (can alternatively be built as Maw-Grunta Gouger or Maw-Grunta with Hakkin' Krew)

• Maw-Grunta Gouger (can alternatively be built as Tuskboss on Maw-Grunta or Maw-Grunta with Hakkin' Krew)

• 6 Gore-Gruntas

Ironjaw Orruks are difficult to stop at the best of times, and become downright wrecking balls when mounted on the back of ornery beasts known as gruntas.** Two big ‘uns riding larger Maw-Gruntas are your hammers, with the (relatively) smaller gore-grunta cavalry stampeding in their wake.

Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King

• Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead

• 2 Dreadblade Harrows

• 10 Dreadscythe Harridans

• 10 Bladegheist Revenants

• 10 Grimghast Reapers

Every soul in the Mortal Realms belongs to the Great Necromancer by right, and if the living need convincing of this inalienable fact, the Court of the Undying King will demonstrate it at the end of a spectral blade. Such is the power of Nagash!

Slaves to Darkness: Legion of Damnation

• Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount

• 5 Chaos Chosen

• 3 Varanguard

• 5 Chaos Knights

• 10 Chaos Warriors

The armoured legions of the Varanspire march on the lands of Order, Death, and Destruction, led by a fierce-eyed Chaos Lord. This elite warband is the equal of any force in the Mortal Realms, and wouldn’t dare disappoint the Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse, so you’re in safe hands.

All the sets will be coming to pre-order soon, with details to be announcedin a future Sunday Preview on the Warhammer Community site.
