The Crucible Guard is led by the warcaster Major Aline Bennet, a warcaster who is accompanied by a versatile heavy warjack that can be built as either a Vindicator, Toro or Suppressor class warjack; whichever of these you choose, the ‘jack will be well maintained and supported by a Crucible Guard Mechanik, which is also include in this set.
The core of this expansion is made up of a Crucible Guard Infantry unit; these vanilla soldiers are afforded a little flavour—not to mention buffs—by their Crucible Guard Infantry Officer & Standard Command Attachment.
Combat alchemists, meanwhile, provide a unique combination of alchemical skills with proper combat training. They’re equipped with chemical warfare grenades with which they can neutralise a variety of targets (mainly those with lungs).
The Crucible Guard is further enhanced by the journeyman warcaster and alchemical solo, Prospero. His body ruined after losing an argument with a concussive lance, Prospero has since been reanimated as a mechanical man.
If you want to add some speedy offence to your Crucible Guard, then the Rocketmen have got your back. This ‘swift mobile infantry division’ attack in advance of the main force, there to ‘harass enemy positions, assault flanks […] and drop gravity bombs into packed formations’. This unit is led by a Rocketman Captain and further enhanced by two Solos: a Rocketman Ace and a Rocketman Stinger.
Just in case this isn’t enough bang for your buck, the Crucible Guard can also lay down long-range bombardment thanks to the Dragon’s Breath rocket. This artillery piece bombards the enemy with concussive rockets which also release a cloud of toxic gas.
This new Warmachine army is available now from the Steamforged Games website.
