Games Workshop Preview Four New Combat Patrols

A detailed display of Black Templar miniatures showcases a variety of armored figures in silver and black, set against a dark, rocky backdrop. Prominent in the scene is a Venerable Dreadnought on the left, flanked by a mix of characters including the Emperor’s Champion, Bladeguard Veterans, and Sword Brethren, all wielding swords and other weapons. The figures are intricately painted, with some holding banners and others poised for battle, creating a dynamic and imposing presence.

Body

Fancy a new 40k army? Don’t want to go all-in just yet? Then you’re in luck…

Games Workshop have previewed a tranche of titillating new Combat Patrols. Described as ‘compact and balanced forces’, these patrols have been specifically curated by GW to be exactly the right model count required to engage in small-scale skirmishes. These exiting new releases include Tyranid, Black Templars, Grey Knights and Space Wolf patrols.

The Tyranid Assault Brood perfectly captures the essence of these most terrifying of xenomorphs. It includes a squad of 10 rapid and deadly Genestealers backed-up by three armoured Tyrant Guards. A Biovore provides further nightmare fuel. Finally, just to add an aerial threat to this tide of stabbiness, the patrol also includes a Parasite of Mortrex, a ‘unique bioform that swoops from the skies and injects larval eggs into its prey’; charming.

A dynamic scene showcases a Tyranid Assault Brood, featuring a variety of menacing xenomorph figures. In the foreground, ten rapid Genestealers are poised for action, flanked by three armored Tyrant Guard, while a Biovore and a Parasite of Mortrex add to the threatening presence. The backdrop features an eerie, underwater-like environment with vibrant colors and organic shapes, enhancing the overall atmosphere of impending danger.

Naturally, the Imperium of Man isn’t going to just let these filthy xenos wreak havoc as they please. Crowe’s Sanctifiers, for instance, are a flexible and hard-hitting force of Grey Knights led by Castellan Crowe himself. This living legend can lash out with his psychic Purifying Flame from range, or close the distance to carve up daemons and other unlucky foes with the infamous Black Blade of Antwyr.

The Sanctifiers also include a 10-man Strike Squad and a unit of five Brotherhood Terminators. Not quite enough cheese? Then you’re in luck, as the patrol also includes a Venerable Dreadnought packing a twin lascannon; do you want pickles as well?

The Black Templar patrol, meanwhile, highlights this particular chapter’s reputation as the Imperium’s masters of melee. Not only does the set include the Emperor’s Champion, but also three Bladeguard Veterans and five Sword Brethren. And, just in case they deign to kill something at range, this patrol also features a token 10-man Crusader squad.

A collection of detailed miniature figures from the Black Templar faction of Warhammer 40,000 is displayed against a dark, rocky backdrop. The figures include various characters such as the Emperor’s Champion, Bladeguard Veterans, and Sword Brethren, all adorned in black and red armor with intricate details. Some figures wield swords and ranged weapons, showcasing a mix of melee and ranged combat capabilities, while the overall composition emphasizes their readiness for battle.

Finally, the new Grey Wolves offering includes five brand new Wolf Guard Terminators, 10 Blood Claws, a Wolf Guard Battle Leader and five Wulfen. This squad gives you a Combat Patrol which sports the combative combination of speed, durability and very sharp pointy things.

A dynamic scene showcases a variety of tabletop miniatures set against a snowy, rocky terrain. Prominent figures include Space Wolves in blue armor with yellow accents, wielding various weapons, alongside a few fierce-looking characters with distinct features and armor details. The composition highlights a mix of infantry and larger models, creating a sense of action and readiness for battle.
