Amazon Prime have unveiled the trailer for Season 4 of the fantasy animation series The Legend of Vox Machina, based on the first campaign of Critical Role’s Dungeons & Dragons actual play web series.

Starring Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marsha Ray, Sam Reigel, and Travis Willingham, reprising their roles from the actual play campaign. The first season was launched in January 2022 after Amazon picked the series up, and commisioned a second season in advance, after Critical Role had run a Kickstarter in 2019 that raised over $11,000,000 to fund the animated series themselves after they’d previously failed to get any studios interested.

The show has been a massive success, with every season so far rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has also resulted in a second series called The Mighty Nein, which is based upon Critcal Role’s second campaign, debuted on Amazon Prime last November. with Season 2 currently in production.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 is set a year after the Chrome Conclave and sees the characters separated, searching for love, family, and purpse. But when a long-slumbering evil awakens and threatens the realm, they must reunite to face an epic foe.

Season 4 debuts on Amazon Prime on 3rd June.

In other Critical Role news, whilst they live show on 12th July at the Edinburgh Castle has long sold out, there are still tickets available for their only other UK date this year, on 26th October at London’s o2 Arena. The live show, part of their Echoes of Exandria tour, will feature the entire founding cast playing through the Red Moon Requiem story.

With the shadow of Predathos now faded and Exandria in flux, Vox Machina (whole once more) seeks to protect a recently discovered, reborn Deity. In chasing the path of the divine child and the mysterious faction who has taken it, they must journey to the Red Moon of Ill Omen… but things are not as they once were upon Ruidus, and the terrible promise of horror in space awaits them…
