SEGA Go Totally Warhammer 40,000

A dynamic illustration features four distinct characters from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. On the left, a Space Marine in blue armor holds a pistol, while a figure in a military uniform brandishes a sword in the center. To the right, an imposing Ork in yellow armor displays a fierce expression, and behind him, a character with a mechanical arm and a large weapon stands ready for battle. The background includes a stylized map, enhancing the sci-fi atmosphere of the scene.

Games Workshop have given us a look at the forthcoming Total War: Warhammer 40,000 RTS game.

Coming soon, this forthcoming release promises to combine the deep turn-based strategy and epic real-time battles of Total War with the grimdark grimdarkness of Warhammer 40k’s Era Indomitus.

Of course, this isn’t Games Workshop’s first Total War rodeo; Total War: Warhammer has already combined the furious fighting of the fantasy setting with Total War’s ‘strategic depth, brutal battles, and cinematic warfare’. Soon, however, Games Workshopaholics will be able to enjoy that experience on ‘a galactic scale’. Better still, they can also enjoy micro-managing their fleets, min-maxing their resources, and fighting apocalyptic battles without having to paint hundreds of miniatures!

The game will initially present four factions, with these being Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Aeldari; each of these will present players with ‘wildly different playstyles and challenges in both campaign and battle modes’. Needless to say, fans and aficionados can also look forward to ‘iconic Warhammer 40,000 units [ranging from] battleline infantry and tanks to walkers and colossal war engines’.

The game will also display exceptional levels of customisation, with players able to fiddle with not only their army’s ‘name, colour scheme and heraldry,’ but also its traits and tactics. This gives players the supercool ability to make their Total War and tabletop armies match! Did anybody else just have a nerdgasm, or was it just me…?

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will be released for PC and also for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
