Pact is a new tabletop roleplaying game of modern, occult, and personal horror from Greek indie studio Black Lantern Productions. The game, which uses Free League’s Year Zero Engine, sees the players take on characters called Pactbearers, ordinary people who have sold their souls and now have to live with the consequences.
“As humanity crumbles under despair, loss, and ambition, Demons find their opportunity. Unable to influence the world on their own, they whisper to humans in a moment of weakness, offering power, prestige, and infernal gifts in exchange for their souls.
Pactbearers align into opposing Dogmas, ideologies that define their role in an everlasting divine war as they hunt for ancient artifacts known as the Keys, while pursuing their own Vanity.
The more you rely on your Patron’s gifts, the deeper they corrupt you. And you are not alone on this path; Instruments of Angels, Exorcsists, Fiends, and the ancient blood of the Nephilim prey on those who dare walk it.”
A 76-page Quickstart, including some rules, background and an introductory scenario called Trials of Chains, is available to download free on their website.
Pact has launched on Kickstarter on the 10th March and is running through to early April. On offer are items including a 250+ page Core Rulebook, a Starter Set (which will also include the Quickstart and adventure), Initiative and Blasphemies Card Decks, Coins, Dice and a Pact Scroll which you can even get personalised if you so wish.
Power Always Comes At A Price.
