Victorian Occult RPG Journal Returns with Nordic Twist on Kickstarter

An interesting little collection of booklets for anyone interested in Victorian, or occult themed, tabletop roelplaying games appeared on Kickstarter last night from indie Norwegian studio Two Starving Gnolls.

The Demonologist Journal Volume 3 is a fictional, in-world publication issued by the British Demonology Society in London. The first two volumes were crowd funded on Backerit, but for this third volume Two Starving Gnolls have turned to Kickstarter.

Originally created as a supplement for their own Exorcist’s Codex RPG (a dark horror RPG set in the 1890’s) this systemless journal has since grown into an ever-expanding collection of the strange, mysterious, and occult. It can be used for any game syste, or simply enjoyed for its atmosphere and content.

Inside the journals you’ll find game hooks, locations, NPCs, background stories, mysterious articles, travel correspondence, and themed advertisements.

The third volume has a special focus on Nordic occultism and features rune powers and Norse demonoolgy. The earlier volumes looked at pyramids, demonic portals, stone circles, and shapeshifters.

The Demonologist Journal Vol. 3 Kickstarter is running until mid-May.
