Mantic's Veer-Myn Make Their Firefight Debut
Body
Already popular amongst Star Saga and Deadzone players, Mantic’s Verr-Myn are about to make their Firefight debut.
The bulk of Mantic’s Verr-Myn pack is formed by Stalkers and Runners. The former are 'bred and built for the press of close combat, relying on their armour shrug off their opponents' blows. They are armed with vicious assault weapons that rip robots and vehicles apart. Runners, meanwhile, use their chem-rifles, heavy armour and cybernetics to assault an enemy position.
The ragged wretches known as Thralls, meanwhile, have voltaic implants in their spines which drive them to fight or die.
These flea-ridden foot soldiers are led by an ancient and formidable Crone Mother. Revered by her brood as both matriarch and warlord, this bio-augmented embodies the relentless will of her brood. Her strength and cunning inspires her mischief of warriors to fight for her ‘even at the cost of their own bodies’.
Brood Sisters inspire fierce loyalty from their warriors. In Volt Chaser enclaves, Brood Sisters fight alongside Overchargers. More machine than rat, these Veer-myn queens have been upgraded with unstable—but deadly—cybernetics and unstable power nodes.
The mother is supported by a Technoratus. A crazed engineer, this veer-myn will determine whether a nest 'will remain traditional Veer-myn' or be cybernetically transformed into Volt Chasers.
Hulking, flea-ridden Overcharger Shockguns rake their enemies with voltaic energy that leaps chaotically from one armoured target to the next. If that doesn't kill its enemies, then an Overcharger can resort for to plan B for Brutal Strength.
The veer-myn known as the Piper inspires his brethren to swarm into battle, overwhelming their enemies with a flea-ridden tide of teeth and claws. They also swarm around the Piper, acting as a meatshield before surging forward to ‘tear into his attackers’.
All this rat is going to need a ride; thankfully, the Scurrier light tunneller is on hand, bursting out of the ground and depositing its verminous passengers into the thick of the action.
