UK Retail Stores Get Mad As Hell!

SoulMuppet Publishing’s acclaimed anti-capitalist demonhunting tabletop roleplaying game, Mad As Hell, is getting a general retail release in the UK this week.

The game, which successfully raised £45,435 on Kickstarter last summer, sent out PDFs to backers last autumn and fulfilled the physical books over the last couple of months. Now that the book is in the grubby hands of backers they’re releasing it, and three supplements, out in to the wild - so keep an eye on your FLGS shelves over the next few weeks!

The books hitting retail are the core Mad As Hell hardcover rulebook, Radical’s Handbook, The Field Guide to Hell on Earth, and The Scarred - a solo play book for the game. Mad As Hell Core Rulebook

The evils of capitalism have torn holes in the fabric of the world, allowing demons to hunt the vulnerable and make life hell. As Radicals in Mad as Hell, you'll work with a Community to hunt these monsters down and bring an end to the quiet violence that brought them into existence.

Mad As Hell is a new anti-capitalist demonhunting TTRPG by SoulMuppet Publishing, written by Evie Moriarty with illustrations by Per Janke, Scrap Princess and Alex Eckman-Lawn. 

Play as Radicals, members of various Communities, banding together to fight the literal demons of capitalism. 

The only way to kill demons is to understand what quiet violence created them in the first place, work out how to solve that problem, and turn it into a weapon. You might kill a demon of mouldy water with a purifier, a demon of poison-laced diet drugs with its own reflection, or a demon of bigotry with a pride flag. 

Unless you address the root cause of the problem, the wound in the world will continue to fester, and the demon will be reborn, free to wreak havoc. To defeat the demon truly, you need to make meaningful social change in your communities and help those around you. 

To keep your Communities safe in Mad as Hell, you have to learn the tools of direct action and how to apply them to the world. 

This 154 page tabletop roleplaying game contains the rules and setting of Mad as Hell, which create a safe, lightly fictionalised environment for aspiring and current activists to become familiar with the methods used in community organisation and direct action.

Radical’s Handbook

This Radical’s Handbook acts as an in-world guide for your characters, taking you through where demons come from, what they do and how to fight them. This setting guide contains no rules, and features in-world commentary from four Radicals from around the globe.

You have this handbook because someone passed it to you. You’re a RADICAL now, and you have a responsiblity to only pass it on to people who need it. We wrote this in November 2015 to try and get everything we learned about the STRUGGLE in one place. If you’re reading it, you need to know as much as you can as fast as you can. The struggle is different in every place and every time, but the FUNDAMENTALS are the the same.

There are as many demons as there are violences inflicted by capitalism, so Wounds in the World spill forth countless horrors, all imagined in this book.

The Scarred

Maintain your composure and confront painful memories as you reseacrh a Demon stalking your community. Learn how it hunts, how it manifests and, most crucially, how to stop it.

The Scarred is a solo game and GM prep tool, where you play as someone who was once a Radical, uncovering and documenting a Demon that is terrorising their community. The Scarred can be played as a solo journalling experience, and as a prep tool for creating new demons for your Mad As Hell game.
