By gaslight or camplight, the Mythos is waiting… and Chaosium is happy to oblige with a couple of new books for the Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying Game hitting shelves over the next few weeks.

First up will be Dust & Blood for Cthulhu By Gaslight. Dust & Blood includes two adventures which highlight the grimy underbelly of Victorian London society. Ashes to Ashes is a one-shot scenario for 3-6 players whilst Signs Writ in Scarlet is a sandbox-style scenario, for 4-6 players. The book also includes ten pre-generated investigators designed for use in the scenarios.
A few weeks later Chaosium is taking us camping, with Campfire Tales : Scouts Against Cthulhu. This one really intrigues me as players take on roles of younger investigators coming face-to-face with the dangers of the Mythos. The book gives you rules for creating younger investigators, including new skills and rules, scout ability badges and an adversity mechanic. Westhaven, a town close to Arkham, is presented as a new setting and the book has four scenarios - which can be played as one offs or together as a full campaign - rounding things off. The book is a great way to introduce your characters at a younger age and prepare them to become fully fledged investigators and all the insanity that comes with that.
