Can You Solve the Mystery? Miskatonic Tales Hits Retail Next Week

Chaosium isn’t content in dominating the tabletop roleplaying arena with their journeys into the Cthulhu Mythos, now they want to do the same with boardgames, and next week see’s the retail release of Miskatonic Tales: Journey to Innsmouth.

Miskatonic Tales: Journey to Innsmouth is an immersive storytelling board game that takes you on an adventure where your decisions drive the story. Explore, investigate, and decide what to do based on the consequences of your actions.

Unsure of who your actual enemy is, you must investigate a chain of events in the mysterious place that fate has brought you to. Fortunately other investigators are with you and, together, you can solve this case.

The box contains three stand-alone sandbox adventures that can be played individually, or part of a larger campaign arc. Although a cooperative game the game does not havwe a strict turn order, but focuses on solving the case together as a group. Every move you make while exploring the map is accomp[anied by a paragraoph from the included book that reveals yet another piece of your story. Each time you play the story can be different, and attempting to solve the scenario several times will eventually reveal the entire picture.

The game offers an engaging experience by comibing strategy, storytelling, and cooperation, where choice matters and teamwork is crucial.

The game was previewed at UK Games Expo last weekend and is hitting retail stores next week.
