The Ring of Fire has different meanings to different people. From those who live around the edges of the Pacific Ocean, to those who had a particularly hot curry last night But in this instance Steve Jackson Games GURPS Ring of Fire is a new setting sourcebook for GURPS Fourth Edition based on Eric Flint’s 1632 series of novels.

Eric Flint’s The Ring of Fire novel series sees the small fictional town of Grantville, West Virginia, displaced in time and space from the year 2000 to the Thuringian Forest in central germany during the the Thirty Years War in 1631. Over 80 books have been written, plus over 100 magazines and anthology volumes, in the series - some by Eric Flint himself but many by other authors, overseen by him, which explored different regions and historical events.

In the year 2000, the whole town of Grantville, West Virginia, found itself encircled by a mysterious ring of fire, transported to 1630s Germany… and determined to change the world.

In addition to GURPS Rings of Fire the campaign is also offering the GURPS Basic Set, Fourth Edition Revised which is the new core rulebook that’s due for release later this year. GURPS Fourth Edition was originally released back in 2004 as two separate books - Characters and Campaigns. The new revised edition rulebook has combined both of the earlier books in to a single 592-page full-colour hardcover. In addition to including everything from the two earlier volumes the new rulebook also includes 25 pages of rules highlights from other GURPS books and Pyramid magazine articles that were published between 2004 and 2025. The revised edition is not a new edition, and is fully compatible with all GURPS Fourth Edition material.
