First Look at Ravenloft Computer Game "Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons"

Fans got their first chance to learn more, and see a gameplay demo, of Invoke Studios forthcoming Dungeons & Dragons computer game.

Gamescon 2026, the worlds biggest event for computer and video games, kicked off today (Wednesday 26th August), in Cologne, Germany. Now, while we don’t usually cover computer games here at Tabletop Sentinel, one of the announcements certainly has crossover interest… Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.

Invoke Studios, who are the video game developer for the title, and Wizards of the Coast used the event to show the first gameplay videos for the game, as well as share some more infomation about it.

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons takes place in Ravenloft, more speciically in the Domain of Dread known as Darkon. The game features a new magic system, which can be used for combat, travel and puzzle solving, and the game has a launch date sometime in 2027 across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is an upcoming open-world, third-person action-adventure game, with players taking on the role of Kaatri, a female Warlock voiced by Tracia Helfer (of Battlestar Galactica fame). Notably, at Gen Con 2026, Wizards of the Coast revealed that her Warlock patron is none other than Tasha (aka Iggwilv), the legendary witch queen who has appeared in countless D&D supplements and novels over the years and will be voice by Maggie Robertson (who is perhaps known for portraying the villainous Lady Dimitrescu in the Resident Evil Village video game).

Dungeons & Dragons Fanatics reports that in a closed-door press conference, held last week, Invoke Studios confiermed that the game will not be using the D&D 5e rules, instead preferring a story-sriven action experience using D&D lore as the foundation, but without replicating any of the taletop mechanics. Invoke cited influences such as Deus Ex, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry, with an immersive world that will offer multiple approaches to challenges.

Invoke Studios, who are owned by Wizards of the Coast, have released an eight-minute gameplay demo, which shows Kaatri exploring a small frontier town with her imp familair, before descending into a subterranean cellaer crawling with undead and a beholder kin.

Drakon, the Domain of Dread once ruled over by the lich-king Azalin Rex, was recently featured in the Ravenloft: The Horrors Within supplement for the tabletop roleplaying game. It’s also been pointed out by some fans that Castle Avernus appears in the demo, but appears intact as opposed to its usual state of magical ruin, possibly indicating that the story takes place before Azalin’s attempted escape from his domain.
