D&D World of Warcraft Accidently Announced Early

Taking a little thunder away from an expected Gen Con announcement, Roll20 (a free web-based virtual tabletop platform used to play TTRPGs online with friends, and official licensing partner with Wizards of the Coast) accidently announced the pre-order for D&D World of Warcraft.The blog post was removed from their website, but not before screengrabs had been taken and the news started being shared.

The official announcement is expected to take place on Thursday 30th July at Gen Con, during an official Dungeons & Dragons panel that is taking place in the evening.

This won’t be the first time that the massively popular MMORPG has been given the TTRPG treatment. Back in 2003 Sword & Sorcery Studios (an imprint of White Wolf Publishing) released the Warcraft RPG, followed in 2005 by a second edition called World of Warcraft RPG, along with supplements and adventures, using the then Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition rules under the Open Game License.
