Three NPCs walk into a bar... No, they were already there. They're always there. Every tavern. Every town. Every campaign. Crooked Dice's Kickstarter saves these classic Otherworld miniatures from retirement. Crooked Dice Games Design Studio’s new Kickstarter is off and running.
Entitled Tavern & Townsfolk, this new campaign focuses on the ordinary folk your RPG characters will meet during their extraordinary adventures. From barmaids to bards, patrons to peasants, this range of characterful miniatures makes stars of incidental NPCs, barkeeps and villagers.
The core of the campaign features more than thirty 28mm scale, white metal miniatures. These miniatures were formerly part of the Otherworld Miniatures range but have now been given a new lease of life by Crooked Dice owner Karl Perroton. With sculpts from industry grandees Ian Mountain, Drew Williams, Paul Hicks and Mark Evans, it’s easy to see why these miniatures are so distinctive. Each one personifies the kind of NPC and incidental characters your player characters are going to bump into during their latest adventures, and they add an extra layer of interest beyond the standard goblins, ghouls and other wandering monsters which usually dominate a gaming table.
The campaign has already funded, and stretch goals include a farmer’s cart, a stirge in a tankard, town guards and more.
“A huge thanks to everyone for being so supportive and helping us get these wonderful miniatures back into production!” said Karl when I asked him how it feels to see the campaign enjoying such a healthy start. “I need to give a special thank you to Richard Scott of Otherworld Miniatures for allowing me to give these extraordinary sculpts a new home."
