Looks like conversations are back on the menu boys!

Body

A members-only chat? Based in Europe? That's not feeding AI you say? And isn't selling your conversations to the highest bidder?

Talk on tabletop Sentinel

Built the way we wanted - members-only, lightly moderated and with no third parties tracking you to sell your conversations to all and sundry. If you’ve got an account, you can post comments. There’s no gotcha.

The last time we ran comments, the UK Online Safety Act came along and to become compliant took some effort. The new comments comply with UK and EU law including GDPR, and are only accessible to verified accounts. The conversation stays between people who are actually here for the hobby. We're not at the Blade Runner stage, but bots will be ejected. So please reply, discuss and vent!

What we don't do is sell you to random advertisers. You won't start getting adverts on other sites based on your discussions here. We don't deal with data brokers and we don't train LLMs to write posts to sound like you. No algorithm decides whose voice gets amplified. Just members, talking nonsense about the hobby.

Two Faced

The home feed has grown a second face too. Alongside the existing card view there's a compact list view with "more news per square inch". The heading has scope tabs for news, events and a genre filter. Anything you've already read is marked so you can see what's new at a glance. Let us know (in the comments!) if this needs some tweaks.

Stop Frightening Me!

Profile pages have had a tidy up. Followers and following counts are now clickable tabs leading to lists of people. You can follow or unfollow anyone directly from their card without bouncing through three other pages first. As none of this has been enabled for a few months, it's a bit of a ghost town. We're still not actively pushing for registrations just yet - but you are more than welcome to join and reserve your username. Like a pub on a Saturday at 11.30; Too early for lunch, too early for a pint... who are we kidding.

Side quests

  • Dismissible welcome card on /u/home

  • Instagram, Reddit and YouTube added to the footer socials

  • Event locations now travel properly with calendar exports

  • Various fixes including feed truncation and tag links going nowhere
