Too many updates, too little time!

Happy 2025! We all hope you’ve had a great start to the year. It’s been a whirlwind for us. Many changes in the front end of the website as we prepare for the launch of the mobile app this spring! You’ll be able to get your daily gaming news on the go! Or when you go. Each to their own.

In other news, Gavin and Colin have set off for pastures new and you may have noticed that Paul L. Mathews is now writing daily news as our News Editor - super chap, has all the best words in the right order. Why would a social networking site need a News Editor? We’ve decided to branch out a bit more into reporting the news as well as providing a platform for creators and gamers.

What we’ve found is we need to get some more pieces in place before we can start to effectively deliver on the social networking side of things; but webzines? We already have the tools and the site and the audience so we’re pivoting to concentrate on daily gaming news while we develop the rest of the features. You can still signup, you can still post your own stories and use all the tools, but signing up users is not going to be so front and center for a while.

We’re continuing to build out the news experience starting with a free mobile app that we hope to release early this year.

In other news, I’ve been working hard to improve the content management experience. If you create a post now you will see a whole bunch of new features including inline images! It’s all been improved in lots of different ways.

You may have also noticed the front page has changed somewhat. Again, we’re focusing on creating a great daily news experience. If you post news, it goes on the site still, but we’re placing more emphasis on tagging the stories and presenting the news in ways that are less boring to digest.

If you’re finding these dark days of geo-political turmoil are affecting your state of mind, then why not occupy your time by joining us in creating a new way to create and consume gaming news. We’re looking for a few good people. with variable skills in creative writing and software - so email me if you fit the extremely vague bill and can spare some hours.

In the meantime, while we’re waiting for Secret Passages to land, i’m gonna start re-living some classic times.
