Plague Island Games’ new project is coming to Gamefound.

This forthcoming campaign will seek funds for the Earth Siege: Arrival. A brand new boardgame, this forthcoming release focuses on Earth’s battle against alien invaders … and it’s a battle in which ‘humanity’s survival hangs in the balance’.

In Earth Siege: Arrival, one player commands ‘Earth’s fragile defences’ and must rally our planet’s governments, militaries and resistance fighters against our would-be conquerors. The other player, meanwhile, oversees the invaders’ forces and alien arsenal, including ‘psionics, cloning, and hidden bases’.

Described as a ‘tense, asymmetric duel of politics, technology, and escalating conflict’, Earth Siege: Arrival will feature:

• Card-driven mechanics for politics, military manoeuvres, research and subterfuge.

• Hidden alien bases from which the invaders can launch destructive attacks, and which the humans must locate and destroy.

• Rules for technology and salvage which allow players to unlock new abilities and advantages

• Escalating threat levels which ‘drive the world toward panic, resistance, and even nuclear war’.

The game will also present players with different victory conditions. The invading aliens, for instance, must ‘exploit Earth and claim victory points through bases, influence, and resources’, whilst the human governments galvanise the resistance required to ‘hold out until the invasion collapses.’

Earth Siege: Arrival promises to be Plague Island Games third title, following 2 Minutes to Midnight and SPARTA!
