This September Odysseus Is Trying To Make It Home Via Your Games Table...

Hachette Boardgames UK have announced they’ll be bringing Gigamic’s new Odysseus to stores and gaming tables upon it’s release on 9th September 2026.

The game plays for 1-5 players, ages 8+, and takes around half an hour to play. Odysseus is based on Homer’s epic poem, the Odyssey, which is also the subject of Christopher Nolan’s new movie which hits cinemas this July. Whilst the game and movie are not related to each other, apart from their subject matter, having an expected blockbuster movie out certainly shouldn’t hurt the board games sales. Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, is known as Ulysses in Latin.

After ten long years of war against the Trojans, Odysseus, victorious, hopes to finally return home to his family. But the gods decided otherwise. On his return to Ithaca, a thousand trials await him: mermaids, cyclops, angry gods, bewitching goddesses... 

With the help of Athena, guide and protect Odysseus through the obstacles. Each trial is a challenge, each victory a step closer to home. Your choices will decide its fate. Become the hero of the most legendary epic of all time.

You accompany Odysseus on his journey across the Mediterranean. Faced with the trials of the gods, your goal is to help him succeed in them. Strength, luck, cunning or intelligence, improve your skills to overcome the 15 major stages of Odysseus' journey and write your story.

Components: 1 Odysseus' Ship game board, 5 individual Story boards, 20 wooden cubes, 60 Trials cards, 28 Story tokens, 40 Athena's Favor tokens, 5 Epic tiles, 4 Automa Difficulty tiles, 16 Automa cards, 1 score block, 3 storage boxes, the rules of the game.
