Warlord Games’ new Crimean War range now is now available for pre-order.

Coming soon, this new range of products is spearheaded by the Black Powder supplement, Into the Valley of Death. This new book contains ‘full details for each of the armies that fought in the Crimea, including […] special rules for each of the larger-than-life generals who led them’. It also contains detailed accounts of the Crimean War, including ‘a full account of the campaign with each of the battles and skirmishes included as scenarios for your wargames table’; needless to say, this includes the infamous charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava…

As with all Warlord campaign books, those of you who buy Into the Valley of Death directly from Warlord Games will also receive a special promotional miniature. Entitled The Trooper, this free miniature depicts a brave British soldier modelling for the Iron Maiden cover of the same name.

A detailed miniature of a British soldier from the Crimean War stands prominently on the right, holding a spear and a Union Jack flag, with an intense expression. To the left, an illustration features a skeletal figure in a red uniform, also holding a spear and displaying a similar flag, set against a backdrop of a battlefield. The soldier is positioned on a rocky base, while the illustration is framed in an oval shape.

This new supplement is also supported by a swathe of pre-orders, all of which offer rich pickings for historical gamers. These pre-orders include chunky Russian and British starter armies, and assorted artillery batteries, cavalry regiments, line infantry, generals and command elements for both sides.

A collection of detailed miniature figures representing armies from the Crimean War is displayed. On the left, a group of Russian soldiers in tan uniforms, some holding a flag, stands in formation. On the right, British soldiers in red coats and blue trousers are arranged in multiple ranks, with several figures holding flags. In the foreground, cavalry units and an artillery piece are also visible, showcasing a variety of poses and equipment typical of the era.
