Monolith Announce A Return to Rackham's Cadwallon, Confrontation and More...

Monolith have unveiled the first teaser for a new era of Aarklash, the legendary fantasy universe originally created by Rackham. Monolith announced in 2024 that they had taken over Aarklash and AT-43 and developing a number of new games based upon the properties, with former Rackham Lead Designer, Didier Poli and his Weirdloop studio, joining Monolith to help create a graphic bible for the entire universe.

Aarklash was the epic fantasy world createdd by Rackham in the late 90’s which was the setting for a number of their games, including the miniature games Confrontation, Hybrid,Age of Rag’narok and the tabletop roleplaying game Cadwallon. Rackham were known for some of the best miniatures on the market at the time - as well as for having some stunning artwork - and quite a few of their Wolfen and other miniatures hold positions of pride in my miniature collection. Sadly Rackham went into liquidation and dissolved in October 2010.

Monolith’s teaser has announced the following:

Incarnation - a 2 player ompetitive tactical fantasy skirmish miniatures game set in the world of Aarklash, where Incarnated heroes and elite warriors clash for the destiny in the reborn world of Confrontation.

Depths of Cadwallon - Descend beneath the Free City of Cadwallon in a dungeon crawler board game where misfits, mercenaries and treasure hunters brave forgotten ruins, deadly creatures and buried secrets in seach of glory and riches.

The Book of Aarklhas - the definitive lorebook of the Confrontation universe, exploring the people, kingdoms, wars, legends and forgotten history of the World of Aarklash.

Cadwallon - The Roleplaying Game, which is being developed with Modiphius Entertainment.

Monolith have also announced Stories of Aarklash, new comics and graphic stories developed with Astrolab.

Gamefound pages already exist for Incarnation and Depths of Cadwallon and a dedicated official Discord community has been started which you can join.
