Topology: 3D Printing in the hobby

Body

I 3D Print a lot. I also see a few companies have moved from the plastics to 3D Printing miniatures as it is easier and for smaller companies I totally understand it. If you can sell 10,000 units then yes you want a steel mould and injection moulding. If you are only selling a few hundred then maybe 3D printing is the way forward and of course you can sell the prints or you can sell the files both are an option and i have seen arguments for losing the IP when you sell the files not the physical. And this is not what I actually came to talk about.

I came to deal with the topology thing. So you might have seen the Sci-Fi Combat Unit (Yeah I know I need to work on a real name for them) well this is the same models after I have gone through and polished them, sorted out all the geometry and retopologized them and yeah they look nice and smooth and clean like everyone else's 3D prints but I don't like them. (Also the boots suck) I just don't know why it can go from looking good to looking naf just because I have tidied up the pixels/voxels. I had planned on having these done and ready to go by monday and I don't think they will be ready but yeah. Just one of them moments of I do all this work and yeah. Ah well.

Also I need a keyboard that actually knows when I have pressed a key have been back in here to edit the spelling and missing letters twice now! I need my own personal editor

How is everyone else hoby time going?
