The Universe Needs Heroes! New DC Justice League Unlimited TTRPG Announced

Brazillian publisher D20Culture have announced an all-new superhero tabletop roleplaying game from the pages of DC Comics. Justice League Unlimited allows you to play icons of the DC Universe such as Batman, Wonder Woman or Superman, or to create your own characters to fight alongside them.

The game is set in a universe influenced by Amanda Waller’s actions in the DC comic series Absolute Power. After a a series of battles, the Justice League transformed, becoming an “Unlimited” version. Operating from a new satellite called the Watchtower, the organisation now welcomes all heroes from around the world.

A group of superheroes descends a staircase in a futuristic setting, with a large, circular, glowing portal in the background. The characters include a mix of iconic and original heroes, showcasing vibrant costumes in various colors, such as orange, green, and blue. The scene conveys a sense of unity and purpose as they prepare to embark on their mission.

The design and writing team features DC writer Mark Waid (The Flash, JLA Year One, Superman: Birthright) who is also acting as the games creative consultant. The game uses a brand new system with the d20 at it’s core, although also utilises the d6, d8, and d12 (apparently no love for the d4 or d10 in this game) and you can create your own characters using Ascension Points (PAX) which allow you to customise your Attributes (Potency, Accuracy, Agility, Resistance, Spirit and Mind) and purchase your powers. Characters will receive PAX at the end of each game session, which they can use to acquire new Knowledge, Traits, Powers or increase your Attributes.

A free Quickstart is currently available on DriveThruRPG that includes the rules and character creation, as well as an introductory scenario, “Lines of Defense” which sees Metropolis under siege by Cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw) and an army of Eradicators. Whilst the primary Justic League engage Henshaw, the players rookie heroes try to contain the chaos as well as stop any other villains deciding to take advantage of the situation.

Wizards of the Coast Announce 'Dungeon Masters' Actual Play Series

Actual play shows, such as Critical Role and Dimension 20 have been massively popular over the last ten years. Episodes can attract millions of viewers and Critical Role have sold out arenas across the globe, including Wembley Arena shows that sold out in under an hour. Dungeons & Dragons has often been the game of choice for shows and now D&D publisher Wizards of the Coast is getting in to the act with a new actual play series called ‘Dungeon Masters’ launching on YouTube on 22nd April.

SALUTE 53 Announces Record Breaking Attendance

SALUTE 53, Europe’s largest independen wargames show, took place at the London ExCel on Saturday 11th April, hosted by the South London Warlords. Originating back in 1972 the first SALUTE was held at the Surrey tavern at the Oval Cricket Ground, just south of the Thames. It’s fair to say that it’s come a long way in the last 53 years.
