WeirdCo has announced the second expansion for their groundbreaking Cyberpunk TCG. Cyberpunk TCG Set Two — Edgerunners: Burn Bright, will bring characters, weapons, cyberware and scenes from Netflix’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners into the trading card game. Developed with CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER, the set will introduce new Legends and Units, fresh mechanics and what WeirdCo describes as an all-new chase rarity. More details are planned in the months ahead.

The set is scheduled to arrive in hobby stores in Spring 2027, with pre-release tournaments being planned for the week before its full retail release.

Cyberpunk TCG was originally funded through crowdfunding site Kickstarter raising $28,353,088 from 50,773 backers, making it the largest tabletop crowdfunding ever, and the third largest crowdfunder that Kickstarter has hosted.

Since then WeirdCo has promoted the game with learn-to-play demos at conventions including PAX East, Anime Expo and Gen Con. The first store Beta Events ran in September as casual sealed tournaments. Reports from individual stores varied with one UK retailer saying they were sold out well inadavncem while some players elsewhere talked of low attendence. Pre-release events for Welcome to Night City are scheduled for October 30–November 1, ahead of the first set’s November 6 retail launch.

With the wider retail release of the game about to happen it’ll be interesting to see if demand matches that seen through the Kickstarter but, with more than 3,000 stores worldwide signing up as retailers and organised-play locations, it’s certainly looking promising.
