Five New Expeditions for Coriolis: The Great Dark

Free League Publishing’s The Fractured Library & Other Tales from the Lost Horizon brings five standalone adventures to Coriolis: The Great Dark. Each can be run on its own and placed anywhere in the Charted Sphere, or folded into the Flowers of Algorab campaign. The collection also includes the Kumaranti, a new Slipstream Cruiser, with its crew, background and blueprint plans.

The adventures offer a varied set of expedition briefs. In The Fractuired Library, the crew escorts a mysterious cryo-pod to a secret research station, where a catastrophic experiment has torn reality apart. The Octagon of Khouri takes them into the jungles of Khouri to help a mother find her estranged daughter. In The Temple of Tomorrow, the Explorers race a rival to investigate a towering ruin on a desolate moon.

The Helesto Trokia puts a gazetier and an algebraist under the crew’s protection as they investigate a Builder monument in deep space. Finally, The Singing Moon asks the Explorers to find out why Resonance Station Khepra has fallen silent and recover its missing data cubes. The adventures in this collection range from rescur and pursuit to ruin exploration and the investigation of an unsettling mystery.

A little about Coriolis: The Great Dark

Coriolis: The Great Dark is Free League’s science-fiction roleplaying game of exploration and intrigue/ Its setting is a remote region known as the Lost Horizon. The star portals are dead, Ship City is in decline, and the ruins of the Great Dark hold both dangerous secrets and the mysterious Blight. Players take the roles of Explorers who outfit a crew, travel aboard Greatships through the Slipstream, and venture across wild planets in search of discoveries that might offer a future for their home. The game draws inspiration from 19th-century expeditions, deep-sea diving andpulp archaeology, with its rules based on Free League’s Year Zero Engine.

The core rulebook supports crew and Explorer creation, hazardous delves, travel and survival, and gives the group a gazetteer covering Ship City and the eleven systems of the Charted Sphere. It also includes an introductory adventure and tools for solo play. The Fractured Library builds on that framework with ready-to-run missions that give a Game Master several different ways to send a crew into the unknown.
