New Maps, New Threats, New Sniper Elite: The Boardgame Expansion

Rebellion Unplugged have just released a brand new expansion for their award-winning Sniper Elite: The Boardgame. Operation: Kraken is currently fulfilling to backers of the Gamefound crowdfunding campaign and will shortly be hitting retail stores, along with a full reprint of the core game and previous expansions.

In an ambitious operation to end the war, the Axis are launching an experimental super carrier across the Atlantic. Find these plans before it can launch, or infiltrate it to bring down this war machine from within!

The Operation Kraken expansion includes two all-new maps: the Norman Village, complete with roads and roaming tanks, and the Frigate, a claustrophobic warship packed with interconnected air vents. Alongside these new locations comes a host of new mechanics and abilities for both the sniper and the defenders.

Armoured vehicles roll out in the Normal Village!

Infiltrate the ruined Norman Village to find intel on Operation Karken, but beware of the defenders’ new armoured cars patrolling the area. These armoured vehicles give the defenders lots of exciting options, as driving one lets the defender move faster, search for, and attack the sniper better, while also protecting the defender inside. These vehicles add a significant new threat to the sniper but thankfully the open space around the village allows for multiple points of ingree and quick flanking manoeuvres.

Close-quarters action aboard the Super Carrier!

Stow yourself away aboard the massive Super Carrier to sabotage the ship before it launches, crwaling through air ducts armed with explosives and bolt cutters. This is an unique and close-quarters map with opportunities for tense play across the three levels of the Super Carrier. The doors between rooms can be locked by defenders, which the sniper will need to unlock with either their new loadout cards, or by shotting. Line of sight is restricted as there aren’t any internal windows adding to the claustrophobic feeling for the sniper who’ll struggle to find positions for long range shots.
