A "Something Is Killing the Children" Trading Card Game Is On The Way

A new trading card game based on Something Is Killing the Children is on the way from BOOM! Studios and Tiny Onion. The accouncement came with a first glimpse of the game: an exclsuivwe Erica Slaughter card which is to be included with the blind-bag variant of Something Is Killing the Children #50, which is due in comic stores on 7th October. What is the Something Is Killing the Children comic about?

For anyone new to the comic, Something Is Killing the Children follows Erica Slaughter, a monster hunter who arrives in places where children are being killed by creatures that adults struggle to see or believe in. Created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera, the series mixes horror with a story about the children caught in the middle of these attacks. BOOM! describes Erica as a hunter who must face monsters as well as human enemies.

The comic has been a major success for BOOM! Studios, with more than five milliion copies of Something Is Killing the Children sold, as well as picking up an Eisner Award.

From Comic to Tabletop

Tiny Onion has said that bringing comics to the tabletop has been a long-standing goal. The company started earlier this year with Exquisite Corpse: The Game, and have described the new Something Is Killing the Children project as a continuation of its work with BOOM!

The license gives the game a strong cast of hunters and monsters to draw on, but the big question at the moment is what kind of TCG will it be? For now, the card is Issue #50 is a teaser and all we have so far.
